| The Cocker Spaniel is the ultimate show dog having
been selected and bred almost exclusively for this for many generations.
The Cocker also makes a very fine family pet ( in my opinion the only one
that meets the criteria of beauty, brains and disposition). It will adapt
well to the family situation or the working family.
The Cocker is a social dog, thriving on the attention of its human family. However it can amuse itself if given a few dog toys to play with. The Cocker will require grooming every 6-8 weeks. The Cocker's coat is used to insulate against heat and cold, as well as giving him the proper outward appearance. It needs a fresh supply of water and adequate food daily. Exercise in necessary for any dog. If you do not have a fenced in yard, daily walking will be necessary. Your cocker should have regular visits to your veterinarian to ensure proper health. Follow your veterinarians vaccination recommendations. Above all remember to give him plenty of love and you will have a wonderful companion. |
Do you really want a puppy?
| Some thoughts to think about when deciding to
get a puppy
1. It is just like having a new baby around the house, you need time to spend with it. 2. Do you have the right supervision? Meaning during every waking hour? 3. Can you afford to feed it and tend to it's veternairy costs? 4. Will you keep current on it's shots? 5. Are you getting a puppy for the right reasons? 6. Do you have a vet? |
